A Special Collaboration for a Worthy Cause

This summer, Tinderbox and Matthew Algie have teamed up to create something truly special—a Mango and Passionfruit Cooler that supports the Beatson Cancer Charity. Available at seven Tinderbox locations in Glasgow, this vibrant yellow drink donates all profits directly to the charity, making it a refreshing way to give back.

Inspiration Behind the Yellow Cooler

The bright yellow colour of the cooler is a tribute to Beatson Cancer Charity. But the inspiration goes deeper. The creation of this drink is rooted in Tinderbox’s history on Byres Road, a location known for its comforting atmosphere. Over the years, many customers have visited Tinderbox for a coffee break before or after spending time at the nearby Beatson hospital unit. This strong community connection inspired the development of a drink that not only tastes great but also gives back to those in need.

Crafting the Perfect Cooler

The drink was designed for Tinderbox by our expert drinks specialised using the best ingredients: DaVinci Passionfruit syrup, Lemon and Lime syrup and Mango Puree blended with ice. Tinderbox’s Commitment to Glasgow

Carlo Ventisei, owner of Tinderbox Espresso Bar, explains the motivation behind the initiative: “Supporting local communities and giving back to Glasgow has always been central to our mission. When creating this seasonal drink, we aimed to offer something unique that would have a positive impact. Partnering with Beatson was a natural choice due to our shared presence in Glasgow and our long history of serving the local community.”

A Proud Partnership with Matthew Algie

For over 25 years, Tinderbox has proudly partnered with local suppliers like Matthew Algie, the renowned southside-based coffee expert. Craig Watson, Matthew Algie’s National Account Manager, shares his excitement about this collaboration: “We’re proud of our long-term partnership with Tinderbox and thrilled to work together on this meaningful initiative. Supporting Beatson Cancer Charity, which does such vital work in Glasgow and the West of Scotland, is a privilege. This new drink highlights the power of community collaboration, and we’re confident it will be a summer favourite.

Beatson Cancer Charity’s Impact

Heilidh Wilson, Corporate Fundraiser at Beatson Cancer Charity, expresses her gratitude for the initiative: “We are absolutely thrilled about the Tinderbox initiative. A huge thank you to Tinderbox and every customer who purchases one of these special drinks. The donation from each drink will directly benefit cancer patients and their families across Scotland by helping to fund vital services and research. We’re hoping for sunny days to make this drink a summer hit.”
